In the Spring of 2007 we bought nine organic lambs that have a free range in our new cider apple orchard. These lambs will be our breeding stock for future Organic lamb that we will be selling in the shop. When you pop in to the shop have a look over the fence to see the lambs and our free range Organics chickens.
The apples from the orchard will be used for the local cider that is being produced by La Robeline Cider Company a new local venture producing both dry and medium cider produced following the traditional methods of farmers in Normandy. You can buy the cider from the shop and one or two other out lets on the island.
2005 - We took the decision to grow a far wider selection of crops so that we could offer locally grown produce rather than having to import. This improves the freshness, gives us control over the quality and helps keep down the cost to the customer.
More land has since completed the conversion to organic status enabeling us to build on the foundations laid in 2005 for increasing the variety. We have introduced 2 Poly-tunnels for the production of summer crops such as tomatoes, lettuce cucumber, beans and peppers and we have third nearing completion.
We have also increased our flocks of Organic chickens so that we can increase egg production. Our small shop opened in 2005 and we have increased both the selection of crops we sell as well as offer a wide selection of Organic produce such as tea bags, coffee, mayonnaise, yoghurts, cereals et...
