This includes walking through the orchard to visit the free range chickens and collect their eggs while keeping an eye out for our sheep. Then we visit the barn houses and use the conveyor belt system to collect the eggs from the nesting boxes. The eggs are then taken to the grading machine where everyone has a turn of grading the eggs and finally packing them ready for delivery to the supermarkets and shops. All the children thoroughly enjoy this event. We have further visits booked to do all of the above and then take a walk through the Poly– tunnels to see various crops growing and if the children are lucky they will be allowed to harvest some tomatoes and beans, then weigh and pack them ready for delivery to the supermarkets. It is a really interesting morning so feel free to suggest this to your child’s school. |
